Forensics Burglar Cases

To begin with terms have to be defined with regard to what burglary is and what forensics law is.  With regard to burglary, this is when people gain entry into a building with the intent to steal something or commit some kind of felony there.  Out of all the various cases of burglary, residential or dwelling burglary is considered one of the most serious because it violates the sanctity of a person’s home and that it has a great potential for violence.  On the side of forensics, this actually refers to the science of collecting, identifying and analyzing scientific evidence that pertains to any legal cases, civil or criminal.

Forensics law works in burglary cases in that various examination techniques and forensic strategies can be used by investigators and law enforcement to bring a criminal to justice.  Let’s say there’s evidence of shoe prints, fingerprints and DNA specimens left at the scene.  With the use of forensic science and law, the perpetrator can be identified.  The most important piece of evidence is perhaps the person’s fingerprints.  With no two people having the same fingerprints, this evidence makes it possible for the police to narrow down the suspect pool.

There are other ways that forensics work in burglary cases, however.  There’s mere document examination and scene analysis using photography.  Many times, when forensics law is used in the investigation of crimes like burglary cases, the evidence is enough to establish a person’s guilt or innocence.  It’s also been found that through analysis of data and evidence through forensic science, cases that are linked together can be seen much more clearly.  If for example there was lack of evidence in one burglary case.  If this is linked with another burglary case, it’s easier to put two and two together and come up with more definite proof about a suspect’s guilt or innocence.

If all else fails with proving a person’s involvement in a burglary case, if there’s DNA in the crime scene like blood or hair, DNA swabs using a simple saliva test can clear a person’s name and bring the real perpetrator to justice.
